OkuEl® M:
The hair-thin electrodes are securely, hygienically and contact-free attached to the OkuStim® 2 using a patented magnetic connection.
Electrode holder:
The patented mechanism guides the electrodes individually to the eyes and holds them in place. The positioning can be easily adjusted to the patient’s individual facial shape.
OkuStim® 2, the neurostimulator:
The stimulation strength, individually defined for each patient, is stored directly on the OkuStim® 2. The treatment is started at home with the press of a button.

A genuine opportunity for those affected to slow visual field loss is transcorneal electrical stimulation (TES) with OkuStim® 2 – the only CE-marked medical device for the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa.
During OkuStim® therapy, weak electrical impulses pass through the cornea into the eye. They spread intraocularly and polarise the retinal signalling pathways. This aims to activate neuroprotective processes that slow the progression of the disease and may prevent or delay later stages of retinitis pigmentosa. The earlier therapy starts, the better.

OkuStim® is designed so that patients can quickly learn to use it and perform the treatment independently at home. The therapy is applied once a week for 30 minutes. OkuStim® is available by prescription only. Please consult your physician before use and read the complete instructions for use. Below is a brief overview of the procedure:

Take the OkuStim® 2 out of its packaging and switch it on. Press the on/off button for at least 2 seconds. Insert the OkuEI® M into the electrode holder of the OkuStim® 2.

Take a comfortable and stable sitting position. Put on the OkuStim® 2 device.

Connect the OkuEI® M counter electrodes to the cables on the OkuStim® 2. Swing the electrode holders into position using the rotary handles and start the stimulation by pressing the Start/Pause button on the right side of the OkuStim® 2.

It is recommended to keep your eyes closed during stimulation. The stimulation automatically stops after 30 minutes.
